The Business Analyst is an integral member of the Products and Services team tasked with understanding and capturing requirements of project stakeholders and supporting the implementation of solutions. This role will act as an intermediary between the business and the technical communities in delivering both digital health products and services as well as internal corporate initiatives.

Working closely with the Manager, Integrations & Partnerships, your responsibilities will include:

To work with all OMD business units and development teams, as well as external stakeholders, to gather information and synthesize findings into business/functional requirements and solution design documents.
  • Elicits requirements using a variety of tools and techniques (i.e., facilitate interviews, workshops/user groups, surveys, site visits, document analysis, business process description, use cases and competitive product analysis).
  • Gather and document business and functional information requirements using standard templates where available using clear, concise, and unambiguous language.
  • Writes requirements specifications, use cases or other required documentation as deemed required, according to OntarioMD’s standard template, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously and concisely.
  • Decomposes high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for: implementation by software development team, creation of test plans by QA resources.
  • Works with technical and client-facing support teams to clarify issues and problems reported by users.
  • Assists with the change management process and performs impact assessment for applications change requests (CRs).
  • Be able to successful operate within an Agile environment.
  • Build process flows of current and future state to support resulting solutions
  • Support reporting requirements for product & service management activities.
  • Support data management activities including identification of data anomalies and consolidation of data across multiple sources.
  • Support training of internal resources and coaching on application functionality as needed.
Requirements that are important to us:
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Informatics or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working on Information Technology projects.
  • Strong requirements gathering, negotiation, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills (BRD, FRD, project artifacts, etc.).
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and good business acumen.
  • Able to work in cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Business Process Design experience.
  • In-depth working knowledge of a variety of computer software, including the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Dynamics CRM  and Azure App Service.
Assets for the Role
  • Understanding of Electronic Authentication and Authorization (Identity and Access Management).
  • Experience with healthcare integration engines such as Rhapsody.
  • Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7.
  • Formal Business Analysis training, such as International Institute of Business Analysis certifications.
