We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manager, Vendor Management & Compliance to join our digital healthcare organization. In this key role, you will oversee vendor relationships, ensure compliance with provincial program requirements, and maximize the value of our vendor partnerships. The ideal candidate brings expertise in vendor strategy, contract negotiation, and compliance management, along with a strong understanding the digital healthcare landscape in Ontario and across Canada.Working closely with the Executive Director, Technology Solutions and Vendor Accountability, your responsibilities will include:
Vendor Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive vendor management strategies aligned with the organizational and provincial program goals.
- Drive vendor innovation, cost-efficiency, and value through strategic partnerships.
- Identify and implement best practices for vendor management and compliance processes, striving for continuous improvement in vendor performance and contract compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong, open communication channels with all vendor types to foster trust, transparency, and collaboration.
- Serve as the primary liaison for vendors, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing timely updates to ensure continuous engagement and alignment.
- Cultivate strategic vendor partnerships that drive organizational growth, enhance service delivery, and support future innovation.
- Develop and execute a formal communication strategy to ensure timely, transparent, and consistent interactions with all vendors, fostering long-term collaborative relationships.
- Conduct regular audits and performance reviews to ensure participating vendors maintain compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
- Continuously monitor vendor activities to ensure compliance with the program’s established standards, specifications, and requirements (e.g., privacy and security standards, provincial integration specifications).
- Utilize vendor management tools to track compliance metrics, certifications, and renewal dates.
- Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess vendor performance.
- Report vendor performance metrics to internal stakeholders, highlighting opportunities for performance improvement and risk mitigation.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks related to vendor relationships, including data security, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure vendors adhere to privacy standards such as PHIPA and other relevant laws.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, procurement, legal, and clinical teams) to align vendor solutions with organizational needs.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address challenges and opportunities with vendor partnerships.
- Lead a team of compliance and vendor management professionals, providing mentorship, and guidance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Conformance and Certification, Products and Services, and Client Services, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and program requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in vendor management, compliance, or program management, preferably in the digital healthcare or healthcare IT industry.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading / managing resources.
- Strong understanding of digital healthcare technologies (e.g. EMR, HIS, EHR, etc.), and industry regulations (e.g., PHIPA, PIPEDA, etc.).
- Experience and/or strong knowledge of OntarioMD’s EMR Certification Program including its set of EMR Specifications.
- Experience with vendor management software and tools to manage performance, compliance, and strategic relationships.
- Proven expertise in vendor strategy development, including contract negotiation, and performance management, with an ability to align vendors with organizational goals.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders across functions.
