Integration Systems Analyst

The Integration Systems Analyst (ISA) works within the Application Support Team to maintain, administer, and support OntarioMD products and services. The ISA also assists in supporting the onboarding of hospitals and clinics, as well as related applications, messaging systems, networks, and software.
Reporting to the Manager, Application Support, the Integration Systems Analyst:
- Works in tandem with peers in the broader Operations and Support department to support stakeholders, systems, software and infrastructure.
- Helps in troubleshooting HL7, FHIR, and XML messaging issues and Health Report Manager (HRM) applications.
- Provides technical support for various applications including integration/messaging engines (e.g. Lyniate Rhapsody), sFTP server application, MS-SQL databases, syslog, monitoring and notifications tools.
- Works with stakeholders to ensure the completion of service requests, resolution of issue tickets, and ensure appropriate communications regarding system statuses and availability.
- Supports various internal teams (e.g. Deployment, Product Management, QA) in the delivery of OntarioMD products including deployment of product code releases.
- Develops documentation of business processes, system configurations (hardware and software) and creation of user guides.
- Develops and maintains various technical and business reports on HRM operations, systems status, security incidents and access audits.
- Monitors systems performance, reviews systems logs and prepares various operational reports and statistics using tools such as Azure Application Insights.
- Helps in supporting Microsoft Windows servers (e.g. maintain, backup and update) and virtualized hosting environments (Azure, VMware).
- Monitors incident trends and anticipates potential problems for proactive resolution.
- Performs operations duties within the same domain as assigned by the Manager, Application Support.
- Participates in an on-call rotation for after-hours support, as outlined in OntarioMD’s internal On-call Policy.
- University degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Two (2) years of Healthcare IT experience, specifically with HIS/RIS and/or EMRs, an asset.
- Strong working experience and knowledge of HL7 and XML, experience with FHIR an asset.
- Hands on working experience with integration tools and messaging protocols (e.g. MLLP).
- Excellent client facing skills. Must be able to answer questions and talk physicians and stakeholders through issues in an articulate, effective and professional manner while meeting service level agreements.
- Demonstrate team, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise documentation with attention to detail.
- Strong network, O/S and application-level troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with personal health information (PHI) handling procedures.
- Strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in business landscape and working environments.
- Good working knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Hands on working technical experience with Windows Server, MS-SQL, TCP/IP networking, sFTP servers, Azure (IaaS/PaaS) services, VMware, and related infrastructure.
- Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 products an asset.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and Kusto Query Language an asset.
- An asset to have hands on working experience with Java, MS-SQL and IIS.
- An asset to have hands on working experience administering and supporting LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, SAN/NAS, enterprise servers and services, and Azure-based computing environments.
- Ability to take initiative and manage time effectively.

- Base salary range of $62,609 - $83,000 annually; final compensation offered will be determined based on experience, skill set, education, training, and internal equity.
